Customer-safe instructions for online activation, PayPal purchase confirmation, offline license requests, Tournament Cloud access, activation limits, and common license problems.

What the Tournament License Covers

  • One annual MatCommand Tournament Director license.
  • Up to two activated Director computers.
  • Unlimited locally operated tournaments during the active term.
  • Tournament Cloud publishing is included with an active Tournament Director or Youth Organization license.
  • Offline local operation after successful activation, through the signed license expiration date.
  • Scoring stations, mat displays, local public viewers, parent viewers, and Cloud spectators do not consume Director activations.

Activate With an Online License Key

  1. Connect the Director computer to the Internet.
  2. Launch MatCommand Tournament and open About / License Center with the round information button in the top navigation.
  3. Enter the complete MatCommand license key in the License Center.
  4. Choose Activate License.
  5. Confirm the License Center shows the correct customer, plan, expiration, and activated computer.
  6. Save the key securely for the second approved Director computer. Do not post or email the key publicly.

Real V12.044 screen: Enter the purchased key, choose Activate License, and use Validate Now when support asks you to refresh the online status.

Purchase From MatCommand or PayPal

  1. Enter the organization/customer name, contact name, and purchase email exactly as they should appear on the license.
  2. Choose Buy License with PayPal and finish checkout in PayPal.
  3. Return to MatCommand and choose Check Purchase Status.
  4. When payment is confirmed, MatCommand activates the computer and presents the license key. Save that key securely for the second approved Director computer.

Activate a Director Computer Without Internet

  1. Open About / License Center.
  2. Choose 1. Create Offline License Request. MatCommand creates a .mctrequest file for that Windows computer.
  3. Move the request file to a device with Internet and send it to MatCommand support.
  4. MatCommand signs the request with the private owner-only tool and returns a .mctlicense file.
  5. On the offline Director computer, choose 2. Import Offline License File and select the returned file.
  6. Close and reopen the License Center, then confirm the plan and expiration.

Real V12.044 screen: The customer creates only a request file and imports the signed response. The private owner signing key never belongs on a customer computer.

Tournament Cloud Is Included

  • The Director chooses whether each tournament is public.
  • Cloud publishes a read-only public projection. Local tournament data remains authoritative.
  • Parents may open the public link from their own networks and devices.
  • An Internet outage never blocks local scoring, saves, brackets, queues, mat displays, or recovery.
  • When a public tournament is over, choose End This Cloud Event before publishing a different event.

Common Licensing Problems

Message or symptomWhat it means and what to do
License key rejectedCheck every character, confirm the key is for Tournament or the Youth Organization bundle, and confirm the computer has Internet for online activation.
Third Director computer rejectedThe license allows two Director activations. Contact MatCommand to revoke or replace an old activation.
License works locally but Cloud will not publishAn offline .mctlicense does not include the online Cloud publisher token. Activate the purchased online key while connected to the Internet.
Validate Now cannot reach the serviceCheck Internet access. A temporary network failure does not revoke a still-valid signed offline license.
License appears under another Windows userOnline activation is protected for the Windows account that activated it. Run MatCommand under that account or activate the approved account/computer.
Payment completed but activation is waitingReturn to the License Center and choose Check Purchase Status. If it remains pending, send the purchase email and PayPal transaction reference to support.

What to Send Support

  • Your organization or customer name.
  • The purchase email and PayPal transaction reference, if applicable.
  • The exact error message or a screenshot that does not expose the full license key.
  • Whether the computer is online or intentionally offline.
  • For offline activation, attach the generated .mctrequest file.
  • For an activation replacement, identify the old Director computer that should be revoked.
